Parents at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Children's School Issued Photo Warnings

Parents and caregivers at the upscale UK prep school attended by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have reportedly received warnings about taking photographs of students. The guidance was allegedly issued following concerns about parental conduct and a previous incident where Markle's phone number was leaked on a parents' WhatsApp chat.

An alleged letter sent to parents of students at nearby schools, including those who participate in sports with the Sussex children's school, emphasized "the importance of only taking photos of your own children." One parent, speaking to The Mirror, suggested the timing of these notices, coinciding with the Sussex family's relocation, was not coincidental. "It’s complete overkill, everyone knows the boundaries," the parent stated, adding, "I hope this isn’t a sign of things to come because it’s totally unnecessary."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the UK last month, having previously left their roles as working royals and moved to California in 2020. Their children were enrolled in an elite school in England after leaving their previous school in Santa Barbara, California. However, Archie and Lilibet were quickly withdrawn from the school after just two days due to security concerns related to traffic, which reportedly strained the family's security team. A representative for the couple stated that the decision was made after a discussion about the "practicalities of their current arrangements" and was "in no way an indication of the school or the exceptional care the children have received."

An insider reportedly told The Mirror that the situation was "a real shame" as the family "absolutely adored the school, the kids and their parents." The source added that the school "was perfect for them in every way and the children really enjoyed their time there." The decision to leave was reportedly driven by the security team's assessment that they "couldn’t make the school run operationally secure."

This is not the first time the couple has raised concerns about privacy related to their children's education. In 2022, Meghan Markle told The Cut that she had reservations about sending her children to school due to the potential for photographers to capture images during drop-offs. She stated at the time, "That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child."

Prince Harry has previously pursued legal action against the British government twice regarding the decision to end taxpayer-funded security for his family, but these efforts were unsuccessful. However, a report in The Telegraph indicated that Markle may have recently been granted her first government-backed security review, with the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (RAVEC) requesting details of their new daily routines for an official risk assessment.
