Parents Arrested After Violent Brawl Erupts at Youth Softball Game

Two parents were arrested Saturday at a 12-year-old girls' softball game in Sugar Land, Texas, after a dispute over cheering devolved into a physical fight that left one man with a fractured skull and brain bleeds. Kiarious Marshun Hall and his wife, Jazmine Hall, were present at Imperial Park for their daughter's game when the incident began.

According to witnesses and court documents, the conflict started when a parent from the opposing Timbergrove Thunder team approached Kiarious Hall to express dissatisfaction with his cheering behavior during opposing team at-bats. Hall reportedly told the parent that he "couldn't cheer before the players pitched the ball."

Video footage from the event shows Kiarious Hall striking the opposing parent in the face with a metal water bottle, causing the man to lose consciousness. The injured parent was subsequently hospitalized with a broken jaw, fractured skull, and brain bleeds. His attorney confirmed he remains at St. Luke's Hospital.

During the altercation, a grandfather named Gary Greaser attempted to intervene and disarm Hall. Witnesses stated Greaser approached Hall, saying, "You can't do this." As Greaser attempted to intervene, Jazmine Hall allegedly pushed him, causing both to fall into bushes. Greaser sustained a broken hip and required stitches for a chin injury.

Sugar Land police arrived at the scene and arrested both Kiarious and Jazmine Hall. They were booked into the Fort Bend County Jail on charges of assault causing bodily injury. Kiarious Hall told investigators he acted in self-defense, claiming he was "elbowed and poked" in the chest, but video evidence reportedly did not support his account.

In the aftermath of the incident, Jazmine Hall, an assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School, voluntarily resigned from her position. Lamar Consolidated Independent School District confirmed her resignation, stating the incident occurred outside of school, was not affiliated with any district-sponsored event, and was reported to the district's human resources department.
