A youth softball game in Sugar Land, Texas, devolved into violence when a parent allegedly struck another man with a metal water bottle, leading to arrests and significant injuries. The incident occurred on Saturday, October 24, 2026, during a game involving 12-year-old players.
According to police and court records, the altercation began when Kiarious Marshun Hall was reportedly told by a member of the opposing Timbergrove Thunder that he could not cheer before the pitcher released the ball. A video reviewed by investigators allegedly shows Hall then striking a man in the face with a metal water bottle, causing the individual to lose consciousness.
Gary Greaser, a grandfather who intervened in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, was also allegedly struck by Hall. Greaser stated he approached Hall, saying, "You can't do this." He explained his intention was to "disarm the guy" to prevent further violence. Greaser reported that Hall responded, "I can do whatever I want, I can say whatever I want. And you can't stop me."
Hall has claimed to investigators that he acted in self-defense after being "elbowed and poked" in the chest, but court documents indicate the video evidence did not support his account.
Kiarious Hall was charged with assault causing bodily injury for striking the first man. The victim was hospitalized with a fractured skull, a broken jaw, and three brain bleeds. Greaser sustained seven stitches to his chin, a broken hip, and several scrapes. His lawyer, Steve Shellist, confirmed his client's injuries and hospitalization.
Jazmine Hall, wife of Kiarious Hall, was also arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury. Court records indicate she allegedly pushed Greaser before both fell into bushes. Bystanders eventually separated the individuals involved.
Following the incident, both Kiarious Marshun Hall and Jazmine Hall were booked at the Fort Bend County Jail. Jazmine Hall, who served as an assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School, resigned from her position on Monday. Lamar Consolidated Independent School District issued a statement acknowledging the incident and noting that the employee had voluntarily reported it, emphasizing that the event occurred outside of school and was not related to district activities.
The incident is currently under investigation.
