Federal agents arresting two parents in Philadelphia discovered two young children, including an infant, living in deplorable conditions within their home. Thomas Bach, 43, and Megan Bach, 44, were arrested after FBI agents, executing a search warrant related to alleged terroristic threats against the White House, found the children amidst feces, fleas, piles of trash, and with no access to running water.
The children, an 8-month-old infant and a 5-year-old, were found covered in bug bites and bruises and were subsequently taken to a local hospital. Authorities reported a "horrible stench" emanating from the property, prompting the call of hazmat teams.
During the search, agents also discovered 38 cats and one dog on the premises, with the Pennsylvania SPCA indicating that more felines might be removed. A significant quantity of firearms, evidence boxes, and garbage were also confiscated from the residence.
Neighbors had previously noted a strong, unpleasant odor from the home. The Bachs have been charged with multiple offenses, including endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment. The children have been placed in the care of the Department of Human Services as the investigation continues. The nature of the alleged terroristic threats remains under investigation.
