Military prosecutors in Judea and Samaria have filed an indictment against a Palestinian terrorist accused of participating in the 2007 murder of Israeli civilian Ido Zoldan. The indictment, filed on Thursday in a military court, charges Shadi Juma with intentionally causing death in concert with others, the legal equivalent of murder.
Juma was arrested on May 26, 2026, in Qalqilya during a joint operation involving the Israel Defense Forces, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), and the Gideonim Unit 33 of the Israel Police. Authorities stated that the arrest followed a prolonged intelligence and operational effort. Juma had recently been released from custody by the Palestinian Authority, where he had been held prior to his arrest.
Zoldan, who was 29 at the time of his death, was a former Golani Infantry Brigade officer and a resident of Shavei Shomron. He was married with two young children. On November 19, 2007, Zoldan was ambushed and fatally shot near the Samaria village of Funduq as he was returning home from a Torah study session.
According to the charge sheet, Juma and two accomplices planned the shooting attack, with the objective of targeting Jewish motorists traveling along a main road. The indictment states that the three individuals prepared their vehicle, discussed the execution of the attack, and agreed to confirm their intended victim's Jewish identity before opening fire. After spotting Zoldan’s vehicle, they drove alongside it, and one of Juma’s accomplices fired at him from close range with the intent to kill. Zoldan died from his injuries, and the suspects fled the scene.
The military prosecution has maintained contact with the Zoldan family throughout the legal process, ensuring they receive all rights afforded to victims under Israeli law. The IDF and the Military Prosecution extended their condolences to the Zoldan family.
