A former Floyd Mayweather Jr. Boxing + Fitness location in Hollywood has been rebranded as Pacquiao Prime Boxing Gym, with the gym officially opening under Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao's ownership. The facility, located at 1724 N. Highland Ave., reopened with Pacquiao's imagery replacing that of his longtime rival.
The Mayweather Boxing + Fitness gym at the Hollywood location closed permanently on January 1, 2025. Pacquiao's team took over the space shortly after, with plans to use it as a flagship location for expansion. "The cherry on the cake is for it to have Floyd’s name and to switch it out. But the location is key as a flagship to expand," said Jas Mathur, CEO of Manny Pacquiao Promotions, in comments to LA Material.
The transition occurs as the two boxers are reportedly on diverging financial paths. Pacquiao's net worth is estimated at around $220 million, and he has continued to pursue various business ventures. Public records and lawsuits suggest Mayweather has faced increasing financial strain, despite substantial career earnings.
This development adds another layer to the famous rivalry between Pacquiao and Mayweather. The two met in a highly anticipated bout in 2015, which Mayweather won by unanimous decision. A planned rematch for September at the Sphere in Las Vegas was postponed two weeks prior to its announcement, reportedly due to legal disputes involving the rights to the event.
Mayweather retired from professional boxing with an undefeated record of 50-0. Pacquiao concluded his career with a record of 62-8-2. Pacquiao previously trained at Hollywood's Wild Card Boxing Club before this move to his new gym.
