Packers Eyeing Mid-November Return for Star Pass Rusher Micah Parsons
The team is targeting Thanksgiving Eve for the player's comeback after a significant knee injury.
The Green Bay Packers are anticipating the return of star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who has been sidelined since tearing his ACL and meniscus in Week 15 of the previous season. Parsons is reportedly targeting the Nov. 25 game against the Los Angeles Rams for his comeback, according to ESPN.
Sources indicate that Parsons is expected to begin practicing next week and participate in full team drills the following week, aligning with the Packers' Week 11 bye. This schedule would position him to play just two games after his absence, approximately 11 months after his surgery.
Parsons, a key acquisition for the Packers in a blockbuster trade with the Cowboys last season, has been a dominant force since entering the league. In his five NFL seasons, he has recorded at least 12 sacks annually. His return would bolster a Packers defense that currently leads the NFL in sacks with 22 and takeaways with 15, despite his absence.
Green Bay, currently holding a 5-3 record and sitting last in the NFC North, has won four of its last five games. The team's defense has been particularly strong in recent weeks, holding opponents to under 21 points in each of those victories and forcing six sacks and an interception in their most recent game against the Panthers.
