Ozzy Osbourne's Doctors Warned Against Final Concert Performance, Son Reveals

Jack Osbourne has revealed that doctors advised his father, Ozzy Osbourne, against performing his final concert due to serious health risks. The rock legend died just 17 days after his farewell show.

During an appearance on the podcast “Great Company with Jamie Laing,” Jack recounted the stark warning given to his father. Doctors expressed concerns about the energy expenditure and Ozzy's multiple medical complications, which included heart problems and arterial issues. "They were just like energetically, this is going to… this is not good. This is not good. Like you don’t have it in you," Jack recalled of the doctors’ advice.

Despite the medical warnings, Ozzy was determined to perform for his fans. His response to the concerns was reportedly simple: "I’m doing it."

The Black Sabbath frontman's final performance, billed as "Back to the Beginning," took place on July 5, 2025, in Birmingham, England. The concert featured numerous guest artists and concluded with Ozzy performing his hits from a throne, as he was unable to stand for extended periods.

Ozzy Osbourne died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. His death certificate listed cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease, and Parkinson's disease as causes.

Jack Osbourne stated that while he was heartbroken by his father's death, he was not angry about Ozzy's decision to perform. "But he wanted his journey. And so I can’t… I’m not angry at that," Jack explained, adding that he believes everyone wishes to have some say in their final moments.

His mother, Sharon Osbourne, has also spoken about Ozzy's final hours. She described a poignant last conversation where Ozzy asked her for a kiss and a tight hug before passing away later that morning. Sharon recounted that Ozzy had followed his usual morning routine, including exercising, before his death. She recalled hearing screaming and attempts to revive him before realizing he was gone.
