A young owlet provided an unexpected spectacle when it lost its balance and tumbled from a branch in Germany's Coesfeld district, part of the Munsterland region. The incident occurred while the owlet was perched with its three siblings.
According to Heidi Johr, 48, who observed the scene, three of the young owls were sitting together on the branch. One owlet, however, lost its footing and fell, flailing its legs and briefly hanging upside down before regaining its perch. Johr described the siblings' reactions as a mix of surprise and skepticism, humorously noting a classic "Not again!" expression.
Owls are a common sight in the area, with a significant nature reserve located north of Munster that supports a thriving owl population, particularly long-eared owls. The city also features an "Old Owl House" in its zoological garden, a notable tower adorned with a stone owl.
