Out-of-Control SUV Strikes Reporter and Cameraman During Live Broadcast

A TV reporter and her cameraman narrowly avoided severe injury when they were struck by an out-of-control SUV while broadcasting live on air.

Mexican correspondent Alma de la Rosa Flores and cameraman Cristo Martínez were reporting from the side of Morones Prieto Avenue in Monterrey, Nuevo León, on Friday morning when the incident occurred. The Gamavisión Noticias crew had been covering an earlier accident involving a motorcyclist and also reporting on damage caused by a landslide following heavy rainfall.

Extraordinary footage captured the moment Flores stood near a fallen tree as traffic passed by. A dark-colored Jeep then appeared in the background before suddenly losing control, veering toward the roadside and skidding directly toward the news crew.

Flores attempted to push the vehicle away in a desperate effort to prevent it from crushing her completely. Miraculously, both she and Martínez survived the collision and are reported to be in stable condition. They were transported from the scene by ambulance.

Martínez sustained injuries to his ankle and arm, while Flores, who has 35 years of journalism experience, managed to get into the ambulance under her own power despite multiple blows. She remained conscious and later expressed gratitude for the messages of support she received.
