Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff is leading Republican challenger Mike Collins by 13 percentage points in the upcoming Georgia Senate race, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday. Ossoff garnered 56% support among Georgia registered voters, while Collins received 43%.
In the 2021 runoff election, Ossoff narrowly defeated Republican David Perdue by just over 1%. The current polling suggests a different dynamic for the 2026 contest. Collins secured the Republican nomination after receiving an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.
The poll indicates Ossoff benefits from strong support among Black voters (87%), individuals under 30 (68%), independents (68%), moderates (66%), and women under 45 (66%). Among voters motivated to vote, Ossoff leads Collins by 11 points (55% to 44%).
Collins' strongest demographics include White evangelical Christians (79%), White men without a college degree (65%), and rural voters (55%). Approximately half of gun-owner households (53%) and veterans (50%) also favor him.
Party loyalty plays a role, with 96% of Democrats backing Ossoff. More than 80% of Ossoff's supporters state their vote is for him, not against Collins. For Collins, 89% of Republicans support him, but only 56% of his supporters say their vote is for him, with 44% indicating it is primarily against Ossoff.
Notably, the poll found that nearly a quarter of non-MAGA Republicans plan to support the Democratic incumbent, compared to just 4% of MAGA supporters. Ossoff's current demographic support levels are similar to his 2021 performance, while Collins is underperforming previous Republican showings.
Enthusiasm for both candidates is comparable. Roughly 80% of Ossoff's supporters are certain to vote for him and are highly motivated, while 78% of Collins' supporters are certain and 84% are motivated.
Ossoff has a higher favorable opinion rating at 58%, compared to Collins at 44%. Former President Trump's favorable rating in Georgia is 42%, down 5 points from 2024.
More Georgia voters, 53%, expressed concern that Collins is too close to Trump than concerns that Ossoff is too liberal, at 47%.
Inflation emerged as the dominant issue influencing voters' decisions, cited by 40% as the most important factor. Healthcare followed at a distant second with 13%, then political divisions (11%), immigration (11%), and jobs and unemployment (11%).
Ossoff holds significant advantages among voters prioritizing inflation (+21 points), healthcare (+40 points), and political divisions (+18 points). Collins leads among those focused on immigration (+45 points).
Despite concerns about inflation, 51% of Georgians report their personal finances are steady, while 35% feel they are falling behind. Only 14% believe their financial situation is improving.
The poll was conducted between June 23-27, 2026, with interviews conducted by live callers on landlines and cellphones, as well as online responses. The sample included 1,002 Georgia registered voters, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points for the full sample.
