Original 'Young Guns' Cast Reunites for Group Photo Nearly 40 Years Later
Stars of the 1988 Western film gathered at a Texas fan expo, delighting fans with a reunion almost four decades after its release.
The cast of the 1988 Western film "Young Guns" recently reunited for a group photo, nearly 40 years after the movie's initial release. The stars gathered at a Fan Expo event in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, September 12. Dermot Mulroney, who shared the reunion snap, captioned it: '38 years later... Young Guns rides again.'
The film, which depicted a heavily fictionalized account of Billy The Kid and The Regulators during the Lincoln County War in 1877-78 New Mexico, starred Emilio Estevez in the titular role. The reunion included Estevez, Mulroney, Charlie Sheen, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Casey Siemaszko, and Terry O'Quinn.
Mulroney, 62, played "Dirty" Steve Stephens in the film. His career has included roles in "My Best Friend's Wedding" and numerous romantic comedies. Charlie Sheen, 61, who portrayed Richard "Dick" Brewer, gained widespread recognition for his roles in television shows such as "Spin City," "Two and a Half Men," and "Anger Management." Sheen's career has also been marked by public struggles with substance abuse and personal challenges.
Kiefer Sutherland, 59, who played Josiah Gordon "Doc" Scurlock, is the son of the late cinema legend Donald Sutherland. Sutherland himself found significant fame for his role as Jack Bauer in the Fox drama series "24," earning both a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award. His career has also involved battles with alcohol.
Lou Diamond Phillips, who played Jose Chavez y Chavez, first rose to prominence for his portrayal of Ritchie Valens in the 1987 biopic "La Bamba." He has since appeared in "Stand and Deliver" and both "Young Guns" films. Phillips has also faced legal issues, including a DUI conviction.
Emilio Estevez, 64, starred as Billy The Kid and was a prominent figure in the "Brat Pack" of the 1980s, with notable roles in "The Breakfast Club" and "St. Elmo's Fire." He has also ventured into directing and screenwriting, returning to acting in "The Public" and reprising his role as Gordon Bombay in "The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers."
Casey Siemaszko, 65, who played Charley Prince, made his film debut in "Class" (1983) and appeared in "Stand by Me" alongside several other "Young Guns" cast members. Terry O'Quinn, 74, who played lawyer Alex McSween, is also known for his role as John Locke in the television series "Lost."
The reunion photo circulated online, with fans celebrating the gathering of the actors, many of whom are now in their 50s, 60s, and 70s. The original "Young Guns" was released in 1988, and its sequel "Young Guns II" followed in 1990.
