Oprah Winfrey, 72, is set to launch a new immersive live show titled "Oprah Winfrey's AHA" at the Las Vegas Sphere in April 2027. The two-hour production, scheduled for April 2-4, will incorporate music, film, and sensory effects, featuring collaborators like musician Jacob Collier and author Ocean Vuong.
Winfrey described the show as the "culmination of everything I've been trying to say for years," drawing inspiration from her decades-long career and her core message that "We're more alike than we're different." She stated that the show is an opportunity to share this message through an experience that allows audiences to "feel connected to yourself, but also to everybody else who's there."
The concept for "AHA" was sparked when Winfrey attended the U2 concert that opened the Sphere in 2023. Mesmerized by the venue's immersive capabilities, including its 160,000 speakers and effects that engage multiple senses, she experienced an "aha moment." This realization led her to envision the Sphere as a platform for an experience that could "take people to the edge of space and allow them to see their connection to the universe, and to themselves, and to each other."
To bring her vision to life, Winfrey collaborated with Ethan Tobman and Baz Halpin, creative minds behind Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, to design a show that reflects "the ginormity of the universe." She emphasized that the performance is not about star power but about the audience's experience, aiming to use performers who can evoke feelings that encourage introspection and self-connection.
Winfrey stated that the show's name, "AHA," reflects the sense of awe and wonder she hopes attendees will experience. "You will leave with a great sense of joy. You will leave with a very good feeling about what your life is, what it can be and the potential for the future for you and for all of us," she explained.
This venture into immersive live performance marks a new chapter for Winfrey, who hosted "The Oprah Winfrey Show" for 25 seasons. She has long advocated for messages of personal responsibility and inner potential, sentiments she hopes to amplify through this unique multimedia experience. While the initial run is for one weekend, Winfrey indicated openness to extending the show if it resonates well with audiences. She also referenced her recent public statements defending figures like Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz.
