Courtney Clenney, a former OnlyFans model accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, is seeking to use text messages as evidence that she acted in self-defense. Her defense attorneys filed a motion Tuesday in Miami-Dade criminal court to admit text exchanges that they argue demonstrate a pattern of alleged abuse by Obumseli in the months leading up to his death in April 2022.

Clenney claims there were at least nine instances of Obumseli's alleged violence. According to the court documents, these include accusations of him punching her in the face and fracturing her ribs. The defense contends that these messages, sent immediately after alleged altercations, corroborate Clenney's account of an abusive relationship.

One text message from April 2021 reportedly shows Clenney accusing Obumseli of hitting her. Obumseli allegedly responded that he did not mean to. In August 2021, Clenney allegedly texted Obumseli that he had been "punching me in the back" and "attacking me."

The filings detail further alleged incidents. In September 2021, Clenney claims Obumseli dislocated her shoulder for a fourth time during an argument about leaving a pool area. According to the motion, Obumseli allegedly grabbed her wrist and pulled her backward with such force that her shoulder dislocated.

During an argument about smoking marijuana in Dubai in 2021, Clenney alleges Obumseli shoved her forcefully, causing her to fall and suspect a rib fracture. She claims he injured her right finger in Austin, Texas, in January 2022, after grabbing her arm.

Clenney, who faces a second-degree murder charge, has previously stated that she acted in self-defense. She has claimed that she threw a knife at Obumseli in their shared apartment but did not intend to kill him. Her murder trial is scheduled to begin next month.
