Former OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter with a deadly weapon in the killing of her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli. Clenney, 30, will receive credit for the four years she has already spent incarcerated.
As part of a plea deal, Clenney admitted to causing the stab wound that killed Obumseli, 27, in their Miami apartment on April 3, 2022. The agreement includes six years of incarceration and five years of probation. During her probation, Clenney is mandated to undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations and treatment.
Clenney had been arrested in August 2022 on a second-degree murder charge. Her attorneys have contended that she acted in self-defense, alleging Obumseli was abusive and that Clenney was a victim of domestic violence. Obumseli's family has maintained he was the victim in the domestic dispute.
Months after Clenney's arrest, Obumseli's estate filed a civil lawsuit against her and entities connected to their apartment building. The suit alleged battery by Clenney and accused the condominium, property management, and security defendants of failing to provide adequate security, suggesting the fatal attack was foreseeable. Court records indicate that Clenney resolved the claims against her prior to the criminal plea agreement. The estate's claims against Clenney were voluntarily dismissed with prejudice on March 4, 2026, shortly before her attorneys announced the plea agreement on July 31. The civil lawsuit continued against other defendants.
Clenney had remained in custody since her August 2022 arrest. Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle had previously characterized Obumseli's death as the result of a volatile relationship that began in November 2020.
