OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney has reached an undisclosed plea agreement in the case of her boyfriend Christian Obumseli's stabbing death, a development that will avoid a second-degree murder trial scheduled to start next month. The terms of the agreement are not yet public and require court approval.
Clenney's attorneys stated that the agreement is expected to be presented in Miami-Dade County court on August 10. They requested that the public and media refrain from speculation until the court proceedings conclude.
Clenney, 30, has been in custody since August 2022, when she was charged in connection with Obumseli's death in April of that year. She had been arrested in Hawaii after prosecutors reopened the investigation into the fatal stabbing. At the time of her arrest, Clenney was undergoing treatment for substance abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Her legal team has asserted that Clenney acted in self-defense, claiming Obumseli had grabbed her by the throat and that she was a victim of domestic abuse. Conversely, Obumseli's family maintains he was the victim in the relationship.
The couple began their relationship in November 2020 and were reportedly estranged at the time of Obumseli's death. Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle characterized their relationship as "tempestuous and combative" when Clenney was initially charged.
According to police reports, officers responded to a battery call at the couple's Miami high-rise apartment on April 3, 2022. Upon arrival, Obumseli was found with a single stab wound to the torso, and Clenney had blood on her clothing, as indicated by police bodycam footage. Clenney told investigators that Obumseli had pushed and thrown her to the floor before she grabbed a knife and threw it at him from a distance. A medical examiner determined the stab wound to Obumseli's chest was three inches deep.
