The Queensland division of Pauline Hanson's One Nation party is at risk of losing its legal status after failing to submit three years of audited financial statements to the state's corporate regulator. The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has set a final deadline of August 18 for the party to comply.

One Nation Queensland has submitted its overdue annual returns for the 2022-2023, 2023-2024, and 2024-2025 financial years. However, these submissions did not include the audited financial statements required by the Associations Incorporation Act 1981.

As president of the Queensland division, Pauline Hanson, along with division secretary and Senator Sean Bell, and party treasurer Alex Jones, are responsible for ensuring the party meets its legal obligations. Failure to provide the outstanding documents could result in individual fines of $690.80 for breaches of reporting requirements.

More significantly, the OFT could issue a show-cause notice, compelling One Nation to explain why its incorporation status should not be revoked. If the party cannot satisfy the regulator, its legal standing in Queensland, where the party was founded, could be terminated.
