One Killed in Mid-Air Glider Collision in Upstate New York
One pilot died and another landed safely after two gliders collided Friday afternoon in Saratoga County, according to state police.

One person was killed when two gliders collided in mid-air on Friday afternoon in upstate New York, the New York State Police reported.
Authorities were alerted to the mid-air collision around 2:26 p.m. State Police investigators later discovered debris in a remote area off Sand Lake Road in Edinburg, Saratoga County. Authorities stated that two glider planes collided in the air. One plane managed to land safely at the nearby Plateau Sky Ranch Airport, and its pilot was uninjured.
The pilot of the second aircraft was the sole occupant and was pronounced deceased at the crash site.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
