One Injured in Shooting at Omaha High School

A shooting incident at Burke High School in Omaha, Nebraska, resulted in one injury on Wednesday morning. Police received calls reporting the shooting around 8:30 a.m. local time, as the school day was beginning.
According to Omaha Public Schools, the incident occurred on school grounds but not within the school building itself. Authorities secured the campus, and by 9:15 a.m. local time, Burke High School was reported to be secure.
The Omaha Police Department stated that they believe the shooting was an isolated event between two individuals. Police have indicated that the other party involved has been detained. The injured individual sustained a non-life-threatening wound, and a firearm was recovered at the scene.
