Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty's family is facing a bittersweet situation as three new grandchildren are on the way, but a significant family feud threatens to keep the new cousins apart. Peaty's mother, Caroline, is set to become a grandmother to three children around the same time, but the growing divide between Adam and his older brother, Jamie, casts a shadow over the impending arrivals.
Adam, 31, and his partner Holly Ramsay, daughter of TV chef Gordon Ramsay, are expecting a daughter in December. Adam's sister, Bethany, is also due to give birth to her third child just a few weeks later. Adding to the complex family dynamic, Adam's brother Jamie and his wife Charlotte are also expecting a child, due in approximately three months. This news amplifies the family's heartache over the rift, as the new cousins may not have the opportunity to grow up together.
Sources close to the family describe the situation as "bittersweet," with "another cousin that Adam's baby won't get to know unless things are patched up." The rift between Adam and Jamie reportedly escalated after Jamie and Charlotte experienced a stillbirth in 2024. Adam reportedly did not attend his brother's child's funeral, choosing instead to attend a friend's wedding with Ramsay. This decision is understood to have sown the seeds of the deep division between the brothers.
Adding to the tension, Jamie was arrested in November 2025 over allegations of sending aggressive threats to Adam during his stag weekend. Although he was released on conditional bail and later released under investigation, the incident further strained relations. Mark Peaty, the siblings' father, has spoken about the escalating feud, noting that "it's got out of hand. There's been very little empathy for Jamie's genuine mental health difficulties."
The family's divisions were evident at the recent Commonwealth Games, where Adam's family, including his parents, were not present to watch his races. Only his pregnant partner, Holly, was seen supporting him from the poolside.
Earlier this year, reports indicated that Bethany had also fallen out with Holly Ramsay over pregnancy announcements. It was alleged that Ramsay did not want her sister-in-law to announce her pregnancy, fearing it would "steal the spotlight."
