Model Olivia Ponton revealed in a TikTok video her past struggles with anorexia and other eating disorders, emphasizing that the pursuit of a specific body type often leads to detrimental health outcomes.
Olivia Ponton, girlfriend of Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, has publicly disclosed her past struggles with anorexia and other forms of eating disorders.
In a TikTok video shared recently, Ponton, who has modeled for Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue, detailed her experiences with disordered eating. She stated that anorexia, contrary to common belief, does not typically result in the desired physique and can lead to a person looking their worst. Ponton shared that she experienced this firsthand during the height of her own struggles.
"Being anorexic, nine times out of 10, is not going to give you the body that you're craving, nor desiring," Ponton said in the video. "And as someone who has struggled with many, many, many forms of eating disorders, specifically anorexia, I want to talk about this."
She aims to help others by sharing her story, hoping to prevent them from pursuing harmful behaviors for aesthetic reasons. "I wish there was somebody out there when I was going through my eating disorders that I was actively following that was talking, 'Hey, just because you're doing this, it's not going to get you the results that you are wanting,'" Ponton added.
Ponton and Burrow have been romantically linked for approximately two years, with their relationship coming to light after she reported a home burglary at his property in October 2024. While they have maintained a relatively private relationship, Ponton has been seen at public events with the Bengals quarterback, including the Kentucky Oaks horse race and a Met Gala afterparty. She was also spotted at Bengals training camp ahead of the current season.
In addition to her discussion on eating disorders, Ponton also recently spoke about past infidelity in her relationships, stating that she has been cheated on in all her previous partnerships. She reflected that while she used to blame herself, she now views cheating as a reflection of the perpetrator's insecurity rather than a deficit in herself.
