Olivia Attwood has revealed the reasons behind her decision not to make her marriage to footballer Bradley Dack legally binding. In behind-the-scenes snaps from a recent racy Cosmopolitan photoshoot, the TV personality, 35, discussed her split from Dack and the financial and personal implications of their union.
Attwood stated that shortly after their 2023 wedding, the relationship began experiencing "teething issues." She explained her reasoning by referencing a hypothetical situation: "My sister said to me, 'If it was a man who was sceptical about their partner’s honesty, and they didn’t legally bind themselves to a person, everyone would be like, 'Good for you, because she would’ve taken half your money.' I did the same thing and they wanted to burn me at the f****** stake."
She added that untangling their lives has been difficult enough without a legal contract, suggesting that if they had signed papers, her financial situation would be considerably worse. Attwood characterized their relationship as living in a "grey area" for years, with her love for Dack blinding her to the reality of their situation until "everything suddenly lined up."
The turning point, she described, was when a woman informed her that Dack had been unfaithful. This revelation prompted Attwood to end their 12-year relationship in January, stating, "There was nowhere left for him to hide. As soon as I knew it had happened to me, I couldn’t stay. The only person I would be cheating is myself."
Attwood previously accused Dack of cheating on her multiple times over their decade-long relationship, expressing humiliation and regret over her past actions of covering up for him, lying to friends and family, arranging therapy, and believing his apologies. She stated that more information has since come to light.
Despite reports that ITV was reportedly "furious" over the "fake wedding scandal," Attwood maintained that her relationship with the broadcaster remains strong. She confirmed that she is dating and continues to fulfill her professional commitments, including filming shows, recording her podcast and radio show, and shooting campaigns, while attempting to move on.
Attwood is reportedly now in a relationship with Pete Wicks. Meanwhile, Dack has been pictured with an ex-girlfriend, fueling further claims of infidelity during his marriage to Attwood. Attwood had previously made public comments about Dack's new partner, Emily Molony, calling her a "bench warmer" and "side piece."
