Olivia Attwood has stated that her wedding ceremony to Bradley Dack was a "sham" because she made the deliberate decision not to make their marriage legally binding. The presenter and the footballer, who separated in January, held a large ceremony that was televised, but no legal marriage papers were signed.
In an interview, Attwood explained that she opted not to sign any legal documents to safeguard her fortune, especially as the relationship encountered "teething issues" shortly after their 2023 wedding. She recounted a conversation with her sister, who pointed out that if a man avoided legalizing a relationship due to doubts about his partner's honesty, he would be seen as prudent for protecting his assets. Attwood felt she applied the same logic. "Where would I be now [if we had signed?] It’s been hard enough untangling our lives," she said.
Attwood described her relationship with Dack as being in a "grey area" for years, attributing this to her being blinded by love. However, she stated that a turning point came when a woman revealed Dack's infidelity. This discovery led Attwood to end their 12-year relationship in January, citing his alleged repeated cheating over the decade they were together.
"There was nowhere left for him to hide. As soon as I knew it had happened to me, I couldn’t stay. The only person I would be cheating is myself," Attwood stated. She previously wrote that she had supported Dack for ten years, during which he allegedly lied and cheated multiple times, contributing to their relationship's breakdown. She admitted feeling like an "idiot" as more details emerged, finding the situation "utterly humiliating."
Attwood also addressed reports that ITV was displeased with the "fake wedding" scandal, confirming her strong relationship with the broadcaster. She detailed the moment she decided to leave Dack after being confronted with another instance of his alleged infidelity. "I'm not losing my job, I'm not pulling the wool over anyone's eyes. Yes I'm dating. Yes I'm getting up every single day even when I have cried all night to film the shows I love filming, record my podcast, record my radio show, shoot campaigns and somewhere in there TRY to move on," she said.
Attwood is currently in a relationship with Pete Wicks. The notes also mention Dack being photographed with an ex-girlfriend, further fueling infidelity claims. Attwood had previously made critical remarks about his new partner, Emily Molony, calling her a "bench warmer" and "side piece."
