Television personality Olivia Attwood has spoken about infidelity, stating that cheating is a reflection of the perpetrator's lack of morals and self-control, rather than a reflection of the person being cheated on.
Attwood, who experienced a public breakup with footballer Bradley Dack in January, shared her thoughts on her podcast, "Olivia's House." She explained that while the pain of betrayal is felt by the individual, the act of cheating itself is not inherently about them. "People cheat because they have, you know, a lack of morals, they lack self-control," Attwood stated. She believes that infidelity does not necessarily invalidate a past relationship or the love that existed within it.
"I think what you have to understand is that the way they're capable of loving you is not enough for you," Attwood said. "So I think as you're an adult, it's all about finding out what are what can you what is being loved to you? Like what does what does true love feel like? And that person they may love love you, but not in the way you need to be loved."
Attwood detailed the personal impact of her separation, noting that unresolved emotional distress can be consuming. "It will literally like it will eat you up," she said. "Like it was like coming out of my body. Like I was like covered in, I'm still covered in psoriasis."
She described experiencing poor sleep and continued functioning in her professional life, including filming and managing her businesses, while grappling with unprocessed emotions. Attwood emphasized the necessity of confronting these feelings to move forward. "I just had to face a few realities even though they were uncomfortable realities. It was work that had to be done. I would say that I'm better."
Despite the ongoing processing of her past relationship, Attwood expressed happiness in her current relationship with TOWIE star Pete Wicks. She noted that their connection developed quickly and described Wicks as intelligent, compassionate, and patient. While some advised her to remain single, Attwood felt that shutting down her connection with Wicks would mean missing out on a significant relationship.
Attwood's comments follow a period of public discussion about her split from Dack, including social media posts that appeared to reference the situation. She has previously stated that she feared moving too fast with Wicks as she navigated the aftermath of her previous relationship.
