Olivia Attwood and Pete Wicks displayed a public display of affection in recent photographs shared online, just days after Attwood spoke about her efforts to manage the amount of personal information she shares with her audience.
Attwood, 35, posted a series of images on Instagram Sunday night that showed her and Wicks, 37, being intimate. One photograph depicted Attwood leaning over Wicks's knees, while another showed him with his arms around her. Attwood captioned the post, "Went on a date with Pete Wicks from Towie can’t believe it he’s so hot in real life too xxxx."
This display follows Attwood's recent comments regarding her relationship with Wicks. She had previously confirmed their romance in late August, weeks after Wicks began sharing photos of her on his social media. Attwood had described this as "hard launching" their relationship, a term used when making a public relationship official online.
Attwood told the Daily Mail that she has been working on balancing sharing their relationship with maintaining privacy. "We're in the infancy of navigating it," she stated. "So I guess we're kind of working as it goes. I understand the interest. For a lot of people it's a crossover of two people that they've followed in different ways for a long time. So I understand and I have a very open dialogue with my audience."
She added that while they want to acknowledge the support from fans, they also aim to keep aspects of their relationship private. "Now that people know we're together we're working out not shutting people out who have been so lovely and happy for us and excited to watch our relationship grow, but also making sure that we keep enough back like that's just for us."
Attwood, known for her direct communication style, also mentioned her personal struggle with sharing information, stemming from her reality television background. "I come from a reality background and I've had cameras in my home and I think that when I don't share everything, I get a guilt complex!" she explained. "I am reminded by people around me I don't have to explain everything, but I guess I'm still trying to tell myself that. I sometimes put too much pressure on myself to share more than I need to, which is weird because I think everyone else in this industry is the opposite."
The couple first met in 2017 and developed a friendship before their relationship turned romantic this year, following the end of Attwood's marriage to Bradley Dack. Their relationship has been the subject of fan speculation for months.
Friends and fellow celebrities commented on the recent post. Chloe Lewis remarked, "They're not bad those ones from TOWIE." Lisa Snowdon added, "So here for this." Love Island's Kaz Crossley humorously asked, "Are you guys looking for a third x," while Georgia Harrison commented, "Now that's the hard launch."
