An Oklahoma woman has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly fatally shooting her husband. Salomi Derena Ochsner, 63, called law enforcement on Friday morning to report that she had killed her husband, Jeff Ochsner, according to an affidavit obtained by the Lawton Constitution.

Ochsner told investigators that Jeff Ochsner, also 63, returned home from hunting and repeatedly struck her in the head. She stated that she believed her husband was going to kill her. The couple went to bed, but Ochsner later woke up and proceeded to shoot her husband multiple times. Jeff Ochsner's body was discovered around 7 a.m. by law enforcement.

Salomi Ochsner was arrested and booked into Tillman County Jail on a $200,000 bond. Her initial court appearance was on Tuesday, with a preliminary hearing conference scheduled for January 19, 2027. The Tillman County Sheriff's office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating the death.

Court records indicate past domestic tensions between the couple. In March 2005, Ochsner filed for divorce from her husband, and temporary restraining orders were filed shortly thereafter. The divorce case was dismissed in December of the same year. Despite this history, recent social media posts from Ochsner's Facebook profile showed smiling pictures with her husband, including recent photos from a Jeep purchase and a trip to Texas, painting a picture of a happy family.
