An Ohio woman has been sentenced to up to 5½ years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide in the death of Ibrahim Diakite, a DoorDash driver. Danielle Henry was given the sentence last week for the October 2025 incident.

Authorities stated that Henry had shoplifted and was driving a stolen car when she collided with Diakite in the parking lot of a Kroger store in Westerville. The confrontation escalated when Henry attempted to flee the scene.

Diakite pursued Henry and stopped his vehicle in front of hers at a stoplight in an effort to prevent her from leaving. He then exited his vehicle and climbed onto the hood of Henry's car. Henry then drove off, accelerating to approximately 45 mph and swerving the vehicle. Diakite was pulled under the car and dragged an estimated 300 to 600 feet before being run over. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

At the time of the incident, Henry had several outstanding warrants, including charges for theft, receiving stolen property, and failure to comply with police. Westerville Police Chief Holly Murchland noted Henry's willingness to avoid apprehension and her demonstrated danger to the community. Henry is required to serve a minimum of four years, and her driver's license has been permanently suspended.
