A mother in Ohio has avoided jail time after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor child endangerment charge for injecting her hospitalized child with fecal matter. Tiffany M. Le Sueur, 35, entered her guilty plea on Thursday in connection with an incident that occurred in February.

Le Sueur was caught on surveillance cameras repeatedly carrying out the abuse while her child was a patient at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Hospital staff observed Le Sueur on camera carrying a cup from a bathroom to her child's room, filling a syringe from the cup, and then injecting its contents into the child's IV port. Subsequent examination determined the cup contained fecal matter.

Following the discovery, police were notified, and Le Sueur's subsequent visits to the hospital were closely monitored. On February 8, she was again observed entering a bathroom and attempting to inject her child with what is believed to be fecal matter. She was arrested at that time.

The initial charge against Le Sueur was child endangerment with allegations of torture and cruel abuse, which carried a potential prison sentence of nine months to eight years. Her plea to the lesser charge of misdemeanor child endangerment is expected to result in probation, with a follow-up hearing scheduled for April 2027. The exact motives behind Le Sueur's actions and the child's condition have not been disclosed.
