A hospital scheduler in Ohio has been sentenced to seven to nine-and-a-half years in prison for possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material. Benjamin Naylor, 32, of Deer Park, Ohio, pleaded guilty last month to eight counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and one count of illegally using a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material.

Prosecutors stated that Naylor expressed a desire for child rape to be legalized. The material discovered on his cellphone included images and videos of infants, believed to be two to three months old, and other victims estimated to be between four and eight years old. Cincinnati Police Detective Mary Braun described the content as some of the most disturbing her unit had encountered, noting the alarming nature of the accompanying chats.

Naylor was arrested in December 2025 after a civilian group, Predator Poachers, which monitors suspected online predators, confronted him outside the Christ Hospital Health and Aging Center. The group reported encountering Naylor on Reddit, where he allegedly told a decoy user posing as a minor that "age is just a number."

Members of Predator Poachers approached Naylor at his workplace on December 3, posing as delivery personnel. During a roughly 40-minute interaction streamed online, Naylor reportedly admitted to trading abusive material involving babies and toddlers, according to the group's founder.

Following the confrontation, police were called, and an investigation was initiated by the Regional Electronics and Computer Investigations Unit, a multi-agency task force. Detectives later found images and videos on Naylor's phone that he had shared in online conversations.

Christ Hospital confirmed that Naylor worked as a scheduler and did not have direct patient contact. He was terminated immediately upon the hospital learning of his arrest. Naylor's attorney argued for probation, citing his client's autism, intellectual disability, visual impairment, and traumatic brain injury. The defense attorney described Naylor as immature and susceptible to manipulation, stating that Naylor initially did not grasp the harm associated with viewing material he had not created. However, Assistant Prosecutor Elyse Deters contended that Naylor's online conversations demonstrated an understanding that his conduct was wrong and that his disabilities did not account for his sexual interest in children.

Before sentencing, Naylor offered an apology, stating, "I'm truly deeply sorry. I take full responsibility." Judge Wende Cross emphasized that the files were "documentary evidence of the sexual abuse of real children" and that distributing them perpetuated harm to victims. The judge noted that Naylor's diagnoses did not excuse his sustained conduct.

Upon completing his prison sentence, Naylor will be under supervision for five years and must register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years. He will also be required to undergo treatment.
