A couple from Ohio was arrested at Port Canaveral on Saturday evening after allegedly attacking a family, including a 9-year-old child, on a cruise ship. Gannon Jacox, 29, and Brooklyn Hicks, 28, face charges including burglary with battery and child abuse.

According to Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey, the incident began when the couple, who had been arguing loudly, were asked by a family member to quiet down. The suspects then allegedly confronted the family outside their cabin door before forcing their way inside. Once in the cabin, Jacox reportedly began assaulting two adults and their child, while Hicks was also involved in the physical altercation.

During the ensuing fight, Jacox sustained an injury to his eye. None of the family members involved reported serious injuries.

Jacox was charged with burglary with battery and child abuse without great bodily harm. Hicks was charged with burglary with battery and battery-touch or strike. Both were booked into the Brevard County Jail. Jacox is being held on a $31,000 bond, and Hicks on a $6,000 bond.

Sheriff Ivey attributed the incident to alcohol consumption and poor judgment, warning other passengers against causing disturbances on cruises. It remains unclear which of the four cruise ships docked at Port Canaveral on Saturday was the site of the alleged assault.
