A Metropolitan Police officer pursued a cycling suspect by car through the streets of Twickenham, a district in southwest London, before exiting his vehicle to continue the chase on foot.

During the pursuit, the officer encountered a member of the public who offered the use of their bicycle. The officer accepted, enabling him to continue the chase. The officer eventually apprehended the suspect on a towpath near the Twickenham Stoop stadium, arresting the individual on suspicion of stealing a pedal bicycle.

In the footage, the officer is heard shouting, "You're f****** nicked!" after tackling the suspect to the ground. He then contacted his team, stating his intention to return the borrowed bicycle to its owner.

The Metropolitan Police described the incident as a "great example of the public and police working together." Inspector Jon McLoughlin commented on the arrest, which followed a bicycle theft on Whitton High Street, highlighting the quick thinking of the cyclist who lent their bike. He added that "a small act can make a big difference."
