Off-Duty NYPD Detective Stabbed in Bronx Robbery

An off-duty NYPD detective was ambushed and stabbed in the neck and leg by two suspects on e-bikes in the Bronx on Friday afternoon, according to law enforcement sources.
The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. at East 206th Street and Rochambeau Avenue in Norwood. The detective was approached by two male suspects who fled the scene on their e-bikes. The suspects are believed to be Hispanic.
The detective, who is assigned to the 44th Precinct and joined the NYPD in July 2016, was transported to Jacobi Medical Center. Sources and the FDNY reported that he is expected to survive his injuries.
It was not immediately clear if anything was stolen during the robbery.
