October 7 Survivor Booed Off Stage at Anti-IDF Film Premiere in Netherlands
Sabine Taasa, who lost her husband and son in the October 7 attacks, was met with hostility while protesting a documentary's depiction of the Gaza conflict.
An October 7 survivor, Sabine Taasa, was booed off stage during a protest at the European premiere of an anti-IDF film in Delft, Netherlands. Taasa, whose husband died jumping on a grenade to protect their sons and whose 17-year-old son was also killed in the October 7 attacks, confronted the film's directors over its portrayal of the Gaza conflict.
The documentary, which features interviews with Israeli military and intelligence sources, reportedly details IDF tactics against Hamas targets, including policies on collateral damage and civilian casualties. Some interviewees described killing large numbers of civilians to eliminate single targets and waiting for targets to be home with their families, a tactic described as 'where's daddy.'
During the screening, Taasa interrupted the film to accuse the directors, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, of downplaying the October 7 attacks. Footage shared by the Israeli group Ad Kan shows audience members shouting "we don't care" and "too bad the Germans didn't finish you off" at Taasa as she spoke about her loss.
Taasa, a French-Israeli national, stated, "My name is Sabine Taasa. I am a mother of four boys. I survived October 7. I came here to tell my story... I came from Israel to tell you the truth." She reportedly urged the directors to "look her in the eyes" and questioned why her husband and son's murder by Hamas was not featured.
Ad Kan, an organization founded by IDF officers and former intelligence soldiers to counter anti-Israeli groups, accompanied Taasa to the premiere and attempted to project images of the October 7 atrocities onto the screen. Oded Nir, an Israeli musician living in the Netherlands, who claimed to be involved in organizing the protest, described the shouts directed at Taasa as horrific.
Audience members chanted "go away" and "shame on you" at Taasa, followed by clapping, as security escorted her from the premises. The incident occurred during the European premiere screening of the film.
