The executive board of the NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA) has been unanimously re-elected for another four-year term. The nine-person slate ran unopposed, mirroring the previous union election.
SBA President Vincent Vallelong expressed gratitude for the members' confidence. "The SBA Executive Board and I are very grateful for the faith our members have instilled in us to serve another term, representing the best sergeants in the world," Vallelong said in a statement.
He added that the SBA is committed to advocating for its members' rights, particularly during what he described as "no ordinary times" for the NYPD. "The SBA will continue to meet those challenges head on and vigorously advocate to protect and defend the rights of all of our members," Vallelong stated.
Returning to their positions alongside Vallelong are Vice President Edmund Small and Treasurer Edward Geary. Other board members re-elected for the upcoming term include William Morrissey, Anthony Borelli, Donald Kipp, John Collins, Catherine Kunst, and Joseph Robinson.
