New York City detectives, alongside federal authorities and Mexican officials, are actively searching for Misal Cruz, a suspect wanted for the fatal stabbing of a Brooklyn bartender in June. Cruz is believed to be hiding in Mexico.

The NYPD and U.S. federal agents have crossed the Southern Border to aid in the manhunt for Cruz, who is accused of murdering Maria Santos Flores, 36, on June 20. Mexican authorities have also joined the collaborative effort.

Santos Flores was discovered with a fatal neck wound in her Bay Ridge home by her 17-year-old son and her sister. "I came to visit her and found her like this," Angelica Flores, the victim's sister, told The Post. "She had just come home from work."

Santos Flores worked nights as a bartender at Huatulco Sports Bar in Sunset Park. Her husband, Antonio Hernandez, stated that police suspect she was followed home from her job on the night of her death. The couple's two young children were reportedly at home during the incident.

The murder was the first of two reported in the NYPD's 68th Precinct this year, which serves areas including Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights in Brooklyn. The suspect's image and information have been circulated by the NYPD on wanted posters as the investigation continues across international borders.
