A manhunt for a parolee wanted in connection with two murders and a spree of robberies across New York City concluded Saturday morning with his arrest, the NYPD announced.

Jesus Acosta, 31, was identified as the suspect in a shooting at a Bronx deli on Tuesday morning and another incident at a Brooklyn eatery early Sunday. The FBI had offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to his capture. The United Bodegas of America also offered an additional $10,000 for Acosta’s arrest.

Acosta is accused of murdering MD Yousuf, 44, an employee at a wings spot in the Bronx on August 25, 2026, during an alleged robbery. Early Sunday, Tayvon Shuler, 33, a customer at a Brooklyn eatery, was fatally shot.

State prison records indicate Acosta had been released on parole in April after serving 10 years for assault and criminal possession of a weapon. The NYPD thanked law enforcement and New Yorkers for their assistance in locating Acosta.
