NYC Mother Arrested After Allegedly Killing Her Daughter, Calling 911

A New York mother was taken into custody after allegedly calling 911 and confessing to killing her 5-year-old daughter. Police responded to the call at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the family's home on 110th Street near 95th Avenue in South Richmond Hill, Queens.

According to authorities, the mother was waiting at the front door when officers arrived. She reportedly told the 911 dispatcher, "I killed my daughter," and directed officers to the upstairs bedroom where the child was found.

Officers discovered the girl unresponsive, with bleeding from her nose and mouth. She was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead around 7:30 p.m.

The New York Police Department is investigating the incident as a homicide. The medical examiner's office will determine the official cause of death.

The mother, in her early 30s, was taken to the hospital for evaluation and is now in custody. No weapons were found at the scene, police stated.

Neighbors described the area as typically peaceful and family-oriented, expressing shock and heartbreak over the tragic event, particularly concerning a child's involvement.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and plan to speak with other family members. The identity of the deceased child is being withheld pending family notification.
