A flash storm has caused significant damage to a designated viewing area on Governors Island for the Sail4th 250 tall ships parade, forcing Sail4th 250 organizers to cancel Premier Access for the July 4th event. The decision was made due to safety concerns following an assessment of the site.

The Premier Access area sustained damage during a storm that occurred the night before the scheduled parade. Organizers stated that while the Quarter Deck and Captains Club experiences are expected to proceed, some services may be reduced as a consequence of the storm's impact.

Sail4th 250 is currently confirming refund procedures for individuals who purchased Premier Access tickets. These tickets, which did not include food or beverages, were priced starting at $200 per person and had reportedly sold out prior to Sunday's event.
