A Staten Island condominium board has filed a lawsuit against a resident accused of engaging in a year-long pattern of violent behavior, drug dealing, and harassment within the building. The Grant Terrace Condominium in Grant City seeks to permanently remove Caleb King, 31, from the property, citing a continuous escalation of disruptive and illegal actions.
According to the lawsuit filed in Richmond County Supreme Court, King has allegedly been tormenting the community since at least May 2025. The board claims he has caused chronic late-night noise disturbances, has been found unresponsive or impaired in common areas, and has allegedly been seen dealing drugs at the building's entrances. The suit also alleges King tampered with building locks and grabbed a resident's daughter in an elevator, refusing to let go.
The legal action follows a June 28 incident where King allegedly assaulted a resident, throat-punched him, and threatened him and his pregnant wife with a knife. Following this alleged attack, a SWAT team responded and arrested King on charges including aggravated harassment, criminal possession of a weapon, and menacing. Despite the arrest, he reportedly returned to his apartment two days later.
King, who claims to have lived in his apartment for about 10 years, admitted to slapping the resident, stating the alleged victim was photographing his girlfriend. He faces further charges from a February arrest for alleged burglary, trespassing, criminal mischief, and harassment, with a court date scheduled for July 13. He also has a history of a DUI charge in 2021.
An eviction notice was served to King in February, but he reportedly ignored it. The condo board's lawsuit aims not only to evict him but also to prevent him from ever residing in the building again, including barring him from living with his mother who resides in the same complex. The board is also seeking thousands of dollars in alleged unpaid fines from King. King has dismissed the lawsuit as exaggerated and fabricated.
Several residents, King's landlord, and an attorney for the condo board declined to comment on the ongoing legal proceedings.
