NYC Coffee Shop Serves Pumpkin Spice Lattes in Real Pumpkins, Goes Viral

The Coffee Lab in Astoria, Queens, has gained significant attention for its distinctive approach to seasonal coffee, serving pumpkin spice lattes and other fall-themed drinks directly in hollowed-out pumpkins. This unique offering has led to the shop going viral, with customers lining up for the festive experience.

The specialty drinks, priced at $15 each, include a variety of autumnal flavors such as Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Pumpkin Biscoff Lattes, Caramel Apple Lattes, and Maple Sea Salt Lattes. These beverages can be served hot or iced and are presented inside small, hollowed-out gourds that fit comfortably in hand. Owner Esmael Mubarez stated that the idea stemmed from a desire to bring a local autumn experience to customers, inspired by visits to pumpkin patches.

The Pumpkin Biscoff Latte has emerged as the most popular item, featuring whipped cream, caramel drizzle, pumpkin spice, and a Biscoff cookie biscuit, all made with locally roasted Astoria coffee. The shop has sold over 400 of these specialty pumpkin drinks since the beginning of October.

The seasonal offerings, initially available from Friday to Sunday, have been a hit among locals, coffee enthusiasts, and social media influencers. Initially planned to conclude after Halloween, the shop is considering extending the promotion through November due to high demand. Mubarez confirmed that pumpkins would be available for at least two more weeks beyond the initial Halloween deadline.
