NYC Autistic Man's Death Ruled Homicide; Police Investigate Mother

The death of Bryan Wong, a 25-year-old autistic and nonverbal man found deceased in his Queens residence, has been officially classified as a homicide by authorities. The New York Police Department is reportedly investigating his mother, Suk Kuen Wong, 61, in connection with his death. The investigation comes after the victim's father discovered Bryan Wong with apparent slash wounds to his wrists and neck on Wednesday morning in their Woodside home. At least three knives were recovered from the scene. The Medical Examiner's office has ruled the death a homicide.

Hours before Bryan Wong was found, his mother was discovered lying in the street beneath the Van Wyck Expressway with a fractured pelvis and femur. Her abandoned vehicle was found on the side of the busy roadway above. The injured woman was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition. While police have not officially named a suspect, sources indicate the mother is a focus of the ongoing investigation.

Neighbors described the Wong family as quiet and friendly, expressing shock at the events. One resident, who has lived in the area for 31 years, stated, "They’re very quite nice family. I never hear anything wrong with them before. It is very sad because I’ve been living in this area for almost 31 years. I have seen this boy growing up. So, he was like, to me, as a son."

The victim was found by his father at approximately 8 a.m. in their three-story walk-up apartment building located on 59th Street near Laurel Hill Boulevard. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident has sent ripples of distress through the close-knit community.
