New York Attorney General Letitia James has appointed Jacqueline Kelly, a former civil rights attorney who oversaw the prosecution in the Sean "Diddy" Combs case, to investigate the alleged gang rape involving Cornell University fraternity members.

Kelly, a Cornell graduate herself, will lead the inquiry into the case, which gained significant public attention following a lawsuit filed by the victim, identified as Jane Doe.

"Jacqueline Kelly is a seasoned prosecutor who has overseen numerous cases from investigation through trial," James stated. "With her criminal legal expertise, commitment to public service, and judicial experience, I am confident that she will lead a fair and comprehensive investigation."

Kelly was present in court daily during the Sean Combs trial, where she served as a bureau chief. The appointment signals a significant step in the legal proceedings surrounding the alleged 2024 incident at the Ivy League campus.
