Emma Webber, mother of 19-year-old Barnaby Webber, one of three victims of the Nottingham attacks, has declared her ongoing commitment to pursuing justice after the recent conclusion of a public inquiry into the events. Barnaby Webber, along with Grace O'Malley-Kumar and Ian Coates, was fatally stabbed on June 13, 2023, by Valdo Calocane.

The inquiry, which concluded this week, heard that Barnaby Webber's death was "potentially preventable." Counsel to the inquiry, Rachel Langdale KC, acknowledged the families' efforts in exposing "one failure after another."

Webber shared that "shocking new evidence" was disclosed as late as the previous Friday, necessitating further investigation. She described the information as "harrowing," indicating that her son "did have a chance of survival had he had quicker emergency response intervention, and had there been better coordination from the police control room."

The inquiry was informed that a "more rapid administration of blood products" might have improved his chances of reaching the hospital with sufficient heartbeat for surgery. However, the inquiry also noted that multiple other rapid and specific actions would have been required for his survival.
