The parliamentary watchdog, the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA), has launched an investigation into Gregory Campbell, a Member of Parliament for the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), over alleged spending breaches. The investigation will determine whether Campbell has been "paid an amount under the Scheme of MPs Staffing and Business Costs, external that should not have been allowed."

IPSA has not released further details, stating that no additional information will be published until the investigation concludes. The probe concerns the MP's spending against their Office Costs budget.

A spokesperson for the DUP defended Campbell, highlighting his 25 years of service to the East Londonderry constituency and describing him as one of Northern Ireland's most active MPs with consistently low costs. The party characterized the complaint as "politicised" and related to information cards and leaflets he personally distributes weekly within his constituency. The DUP stated that Campbell had already provided information on the matter and would cooperate fully with the investigation. He will make no further comment while the process is ongoing.
