Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, a 44-year-old mother from Cary, North Carolina, vanished on July 22 while vacationing in Grenada. She was last seen on surveillance camera entering the sea on Grand Anse beach in the capital of St. George’s.
According to Grenada’s Commissioner of Police, Randy Connaught, footage showed Waddell entering the water at approximately 11:51 a.m. Thirteen minutes later, she was observed swimming beneath a jetty.
“Ms Waddell was not seen on surveillance footage returning from the water,” Connaught stated during a press briefing Tuesday. Investigators have also gathered eyewitness accounts indicating she was swimming in the open water.
Waddell had arrived in Grenada on July 11 from Miami with a female friend. She was staying with this friend at a beachfront resort neighborhood.
