A North Carolina man has won a significant lottery prize for the second time in two years, with plans to allocate the winnings to community philanthropy. Cristien Breton of Salisbury claimed a $100,000 prize from a scratch-off ticket purchased last week, following his $2 million jackpot win in 2024.

Breton announced his intention to use the funds to assist underprivileged children in preparing for the upcoming school year. "I could not believe it happened again," Breton stated, expressing gratitude for his fortune. "I want to help take care of the community. It feels awesome. I am definitely blessed."

After taxes, Breton took home approximately $72,000 from his recent win. His previous $2 million prize, claimed in August 2024, resulted in an after-tax payout of $858,006. At that time, he used a portion of his winnings to support his mother, an experience that inspired him to continue giving back.

The $100,000 Cash Payday scratch-off game is part of the North Carolina Education Lottery. According to reports, the game still has over 80 prizes of $100,000 available, with 56 yet to be claimed. In 2025, Rowan County, where Breton resides, received $7.7 million in lottery funds from the state government.
