A man has been arrested in Charlotte, North Carolina, following the release of viral videos that appear to show him chasing and assaulting women. Di-Quan Hunt, 32, was taken into custody on Thursday and charged with assault after multiple incidents were captured on camera.

Police stated that Hunt faces charges stemming from alleged assaults and harassment, including an incident reported on July 30. One widely circulated video shows a woman on the ground in Charlotte's East Boulevard neighborhood being repeatedly punched. In the footage, Hunt is heard making aggressive remarks before striking the woman. She sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports. The motive behind this alleged attack remains unclear.

Another video appears to show Hunt confronting and harassing a different woman walking down the street, with the woman seen escaping onto the road. In this footage, the man can be heard making threats.

According to WBTV, Hunt has a history of arrests, with at least nine previous charges in recent years. These include assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats, assault, and violating domestic violence orders. In March, Hunt received a plea deal for assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon, resulting in a sentence of time served, totaling 89 days in jail.

One man who reported being threatened by Hunt late last year at a Charlotte light rail station described the incident to WBTV. He stated that Hunt displayed a gun, a knife, and a hatchet, and asked, "Are you ready to die today?". This individual expressed dismay at the outcome of Hunt's trial, telling WBTV that he felt Hunt received "a slap on the wrist" and that the court seemed to believe Hunt had been punished enough with the time served.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police have not yet commented on the recent charges against Hunt.
