The family of Di-Quan Schafar Hunt, 32, had repeatedly urged authorities to intervene due to his increasingly violent behavior, according to his sister. Hunt was arrested Thursday in Charlotte, North Carolina, after a series of disturbing videos showing him attacking strangers in the street gained traction online.

Hunt has a documented history of offenses, with at least nine previous arrests. His sister stated that he had recently been engaging in random attacks against neighbors in the Dilworth neighborhood. "He completely just flipped, and that turned into violence. And we had to call the cops then," she told WSOC.

Family members have expressed concern over Hunt's mental state, with his sister believing he has been diagnosed with PTSD and bipolar disorder. However, she noted that he has refused medication. The family's apprehension stems from the fear of what could happen if he is released without treatment, and they hope justice is served for his alleged victims.

Authorities reported that Hunt's sister provided police with video evidence of his actions on Monday and contacted officers again on Thursday to share his location. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department took Hunt into custody following an investigation. He is expected to be charged with assault with a deadly weapon upon his release from a medical facility.

One of the undated videos captures Hunt yelling at a woman after knocking her to the ground. In another clip, he is seen shoving a woman and chasing her while shouting. The videos themselves appear to be self-recorded by Hunt.
