A video purportedly shows 18-year-old college football player Nolan Wells demanding his phone during an argument shortly before he disappeared on a Fourth of July boat trip, according to his family's lawyer, Ben Crump. Wells vanished during a trip with friends to Horn Island, Mississippi.

His body was recovered on a Monday and positively identified through dental records the following day, according to reporting by the New York Post. Police have been investigating the video footage, which allegedly captures a heated exchange.

During an interview on "Good Morning America" with Wells' parents, Crump stated that the video includes Wells saying, "Give me my freaking phone, what are you freaking doing?" The attorney also expressed skepticism about claims that Wells voluntarily left his phone with his companions before they returned to shore without him.

"I mean, no young person leaves their cell phone," Crump told host Michael Strahan. Wells' parents, Christine and Elmore Wonsley, have spoken publicly about their son's death.
