Noel Gallagher Attributes Oasis' Improved Sound to Compromise with Liam

Noel Gallagher believes that his willingness to "compromise" with his brother Liam has been a key factor in Oasis' successful reunion, suggesting it has made the band "better than" they ever were.

The siblings, whose public fallout led to the band's split in 2009, reconciled in 2024 for their "Oasis Live '25" tour and are preparing for a further run of shows, "Oasis Live '27."

Gallagher, 59, shared his thoughts on their reconciliation during a recent appearance on Youtuber Amelia Dimoldenberg's "Chicken Shop Dates." When asked for advice on working with a sibling, he stated, "I think you've got to be prepared just to compromise."

He acknowledged that compromise is "key" but admitted it's an area he has had to work on, adding, "which is something I'm not ordinarily good at. But I think it gets better as you get older."

Regarding the success of their reunion, Gallagher explained that one cannot guarantee success but must "hope that you can do whatever it is you're trying to do as well as you want to do it." He noted that after about a week of rehearsals for Oasis, it became clear that the performances would be "as good if not better than it ever was."

Oasis, known for hits like "Wonderwall," "Don't Look Back in Anger," and "Champagne Supernova," continues to resonate with fans. Gallagher reflected on the meaning of "Champagne Supernova," released in 1995, suggesting its lyrical ambiguity from the 90s has evolved to hold more meaning for new generations, though he humorously admitted he still doesn't understand phrases like "slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball," quipping that it might be a drug reference.

Earlier this week, Liam Gallagher, 54, further fueled fan speculation about new Oasis material when he responded to a fan on Twitter by mentioning "8 including the new 1" in reference to the band's album count. This follows Liam's earlier suggestion that more concerts could follow the "Oasis Live '27" tour if new music is produced.
